What are Dentures
Dentures are false teeth made to replace teeth lost teeth. Dentures can be complete or partial. Complete dentures cover your entire upper or lower jaw. Partials replace one or a few teeth.
People who are missing teeth will find they have difficulty chewing their food. Replacing missing teeth with dentures will benefit their health and their appearance, allowing them to chew and smile with greater confidence.
Dr. Miller advises Dental Implants to prevent bone loss even to those patients who seem content with their dentures?
Dentures sit on your gums and when you apply pressure, as when you eat, your gums and bones can disintegrate/resorb. In time the bone loss can increase the risk for jaw fractures. Dental Implants and not dentures are therefore a permanent solution to tooth loss.
At Conncord Dental Implants you have three options:
OPTION 1 – A Full Denture Restoration/Repair
For patients that are satisfied with the look and feel of dentures we will be happy to provide a full or partial restoration of your denture.
OPTION 2 -Denture Stabilization
Dentures can now be stabilized in one simple, painless and affordable visit eliminating the discomfort of dentures.
This exciting new procedure, will secure existing dentures without the use of messy adhesives. The typical Denture Stabilization procedure can be completed in a single, virtually pain-free visit, leaving the patient with the ability to eat anything he chooses within several hours. Even patients with some bone loss can benefit from Denture Stabilization at a fraction of the cost of traditional implants.
OPTION 3 – Traditional Implants
Implants are extremely strong and durable and will outlast most other restorative procedures. A dental implant is an artificial tooth which is implanted into the jaw bone when a natural tooth is lost. It is generally made of titanium and covered with a porcelain crown or a bridge giving the appearance of real teeth. Dr. Miller of Concord Dental Implants explains that the success rate of an implant is a remarkable 98 % for lower implants and 91 % for upper implants. It is not surprising that most people choose Dental Implants to restore lost teeth. Even people with removable, conventional dentures for lower and upper jaws, or removable bridges have opted for implants and have discovered a significant improvement in their ability to chew food comfortably after their dental implant treatment.
Please see our Dental Implants page for more information regarding the procedure.
